Field Limit:   325 with no wait list. Last year the race was full by June 1st.
Registration:   Registration is available on-line only through ultrasignup.com beginning March 1, 2012 at 8am. Registration will close on Wednesday, July 11, 2012, though we expect the event to fill well before then. There are no refunds, transfers or postponements.
Packet Pickup:   This year we will not have our traditional packet pickup on Friday. If you ordered a tshirt you may pick it up Friday at Rogue Valley Runner in Ashland between 3 and 6PM if you would like to get it before race day. We will be signing in runners, providing race numbers and have additional tshirt pickup before the races, beginning at 5:15 am on Saturday. We encourage you to drop by our friends at Rogue Valley Runners on Friday to pick up last minute racing needs and running advice from Oregon’s finest running store. Don’t worry, the traditional SWAG will be provided as you cross the finish line!
Directions   
to the Start:   
Take the Interstate 5 Mount Ashland exit (exit #6), located 10 miles south of Ashland and 5 miles north of the California/Oregon border. Follow the signs to the ski area located about 8 miles from the Interstate. If driving from Ashland, please allow at least 40 minutes driving time to get there.
Awards:   Cowbells will be awarded to the top three in each age division as well as to the first man and woman overall. Results will be posted near the finish line. The cowbells will be given out as close to 1:30 pm as possible. Complete results will be available on the SOB website by the end of race weekend.
Age Divisions:   Men and Women, 29 and under, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70 and over.
Cutoffs:   The following cut-offs are in effect for the 50K course. Runners must exit the aid station by the cut-off times listed below or they will be pulled from the event by the aid station captains. Aid station captains have the final word. Runners crossing the finish line after the final cut-off will not be scored in the results. Cut off times apply to the return course after the turnaround:

      Siskiyou Gap   Noon
      Willamette Meridian   1:15 PM
      Finish Line   2:30 PM
Early Start:   The early start is intended to allow slower runners a chance to return to the finish line in a reasonable time. It is not intended as a way to massage your ego for part or all of the race. If you can finish the course in less than six hours please do not take the early start. The best official time any early starter will get is 6 hours.
Pacers:   No pacers are allowed however family and friends are welcome to join the runners for the last mile which begins once the runners exit the Pacific Crest Trail for the last time.
